a) Defending Champion.

b) Winner of the 2010 Volvo China Open.

c) The top 4 players (not otherwise qualified) from the final 2010 European Tour Race to Dubai Rankings. 

d) 8 players taken from the final result of selected European Tour Race to Dubai Tournaments.

e) The leading player (not otherwise qualified), based upon their nationality, listed on the Official World Golf Ranking, from each of the following regions following the completion of the 2011 US Masters:

  • Europe
  • Africa/Middle East
  • North America
  • South America
  • Asia  (comprising China, SE Asia, India, Japan, Korea)
  • Australasia (comprising Australia, Fiji and New Zealand.

f) The leading player (not otherwise qualified) from the Official World Golf Ranking following the completion of the 2011 US Masters. 

g) The leading 2 players (not otherwise qualified) from the current (2011) European Tour Race to Dubai Rankings following the completion of the 2011 US Masters.

h) One sponsor invite taken from the top 50 from the Official World Golf Ranking following the completion of the 2011 US Masters.

NOTES ON QUALIFICATION

Prior to the draw being announced at 0900 on Monday of the Championship players that withdraw or do not enter under categories a), b), c) and, additionally in the case of category d), do not qualify from within the top 5 from one of the specified qualifying tournaments, will be replaced with the next highest ranked player from the final 2010 European Tour Race to Dubai Rankings.

Prior to the draw being announced at 0900 on Monday of the Championship players that withdraw, or do not enter under categories e) and f) will be replaced with the next highest ranked player from the OWGR following the completion of the 2011 US Masters.

Prior to the draw being announced at 0900 on Monday of the Championship players that withdraw or do not enter under category g) will be replaced with the next highest ranked player from the current (2011) European Tour Race to Dubai Rankings following the completion of the 2011 US Masters.

Prior to the draw being announced at 0900 on Monday of the Championship players that withdraw or do not enter under category h) will be replaced with another sponsor invite from the Official World Golf Ranking top 50 following the completion of the 2011 US Masters. Below 50th on the OWGR the next highest ranked player on the final 2010 Race to Dubai will qualify.

After the draw has been announced the designated ‘Reserve’ player will qualify should a player withdraw.
